New owners take over plant shop in Wapping Wharf

By Mariama Adan  Thursday Sep 29, 2022

The new owners of a shop in Wapping Wharf hope it will be the number one botanical destination for house plants in our city.

Bush Bristol has been taken over by couple Alex Gear and Sharshi Gee in Wapping Wharf’s CARGO.

The pair’s botanical business ventures first started in hopes of fuelling their passion for indoor plants and flowers.

“Our aim is to make Bush the number one spot in Bristol for indoor plants and we pride ourselves on the love and care our plants receive before going to their permanent homes,” co-owner Alex said.

The shop is “plant heaven”, according to Sharshi, and offers house plants of all sizes alongside fresh and dried flowers, pots, soils and more.

“We want to keep our prices really affordable and if there’s a particular plant that someone’s looking for, they just need to ask and we’ll do our best to track it down for them,” Alex added.

Their passion for plants has spread to their Fishponds home, where they have over 125 indoor plants.

“It’s a bit of a jungle,” joked Alex.

Sharshi said: “We jumped at the chance to be part of the community at CARGO and everyone’s been so friendly and supportive since we opened. It’s going brilliantly and we’re already getting repeat customers.”
