Pop-up handmade bicycle shop opens

By Bristol24/7  Thursday Sep 1, 2016

Last seen on St Nicholas Street last year, local bike manufacturer Temple Cycles have opened a new pop-up shop on the Christmas Steps.

Temple Cycles was founded by Matt Mears, who restored vintage bikes to pay his way through a degree in mechanical engineering at Bristol University.

He soon developed the skills and expertise to design his own range of bikes, and so spawned the company which has recently moved into Filwood Green Business Park.

The pop-up open until September 12 will showcase not only Temple Cycles’ classically-styled, steel frame bikes, but a range of smaller cycling related gifts and accessories.

TempCycles can be found towards the top of the Christmas Steps in a former gallery

“I am looking forward to showing off what has been years in the making and reinforcing the idea that Bristol is a great city for cycling,” Matt says.

“The Christmas Steps is one of Bristol’s most special locations so hopefully as many people as possible will be able to find and visit the shop over the two-week period.”
