Shop of the Week: Blues Store

By Bristol24/7  Wednesday Oct 14, 2020

Fiercely independent and wildly creative, Blues Store is an amalgamation of urban fashion, footwear, magazines and curiosities.

Owner Christian Taylor started the business as Colourway several years ago as a place for his creative friends to showcase their endeavours and to sell goods by independent brands.

Recently changing the names to Blues Store, the shop is now thriving in its home on Broad Street.

Christian, who buys all the stock to sell and is proud to be “fiercely” independent, even in a challenging climate, selling items from artist-led brands across the UK and Europe.

Blues Store stocks well-known names including Vans and Dr Martens alongside smaller, Bristol-based brands such as Tydrax 618.

Seeing clothing from the likes of Dickies and trainers by New Balance next to stock from smaller names is a balancing act Blues Stores is maintaining.

“I hope to carry on spreading our love for style, culture and working with likeminded brands,” says Christian.

If the eclectic goods at Blues Store – from magazines and ceramics to perfume and shoes – is anything to go by, this store will be spreading the love for a long time to come.
