Living the executive high life at Bristol Marriott Hotel City Centre
Based in the very heart of Bristol, literally a two-minute walk from the Cabot Circus shopping centre, is the award-winning Bristol Marriott Hotel City Centre. As soon as you step foot in the modern 11-storey building, you know this will be a relaxing stay in high quality surroundings.
Check-in at the vast reception desk was extremely efficient, and the smooth and professional manner soon puts you straight at ease (offering our daughter a colouring set and a cuddly toy was definitely a wonderful way to kick off our stay at this luxurious hotel).
This often-recommended hotel is also less than a mile from Bristol Temple Meads railway station. Standard rooms come equipped with a desk, flat screen TV and tea and coffee-making facilities, while if you opt to upgrade, you’ll be able to frequent the executive lounge to access complimentary drinks and canapes.
is needed now More than ever

The luxurious bar and seating area on the first floor of the hotel
After checking into our room and enjoying some hot drinks whilst looking out from the balcony – the view of central Bristol was a real treat, even on a wet and windy day – we then decided to check out the executive lounge before going for a leisurely swim in the indoor pool.
The lounge, which was accessed using our room key, was a piece of relative solitude in an otherwise bustling hotel; nibbles including pizza slices, cheeses and nuts were on offer and both alcoholic and soft drinks were flowing. It was the perfect way to unwind after another hectic week; and the comfortable sofas were incredibly enticing and rejuvenating.

The indoor pool is an unexpected surprise in the city centre
Once we were nicely rested, we decided to take that swim and also enjoy the steam room and sauna. The water was heated to the perfect temperature and the pool was large enough to accommodate several swimmers of different abilities. It was exciting to know that this place was in the very centre of busy Bristol, and yet, inside, you could be in your little paradise, totally unwinding.
After the swim, we visited the Cast Iron Grill restaurant for a generously-portioned meal, with the staff able to cater to dietary needs with absolutely no fuss, and then returned to our immaculate suite to wind down for the evening.
The large flat screen TV, alongside some hot drinks and the assortment of cookies provided free-of-charge in the room, were perfect for a pre-sleep lounge in our queen beds (one for the parents, one for our 6-year-old).

Many of the rooms in the 11-storey hotel have far-reaching views over Bristol
Thanks to the deluxe soft bedding and the perfect temperature of the room, we all slept divinely and woke feeling totally refreshed and ready for the day ahead of us. It was lovely to open our valanced draped curtains to then step out straight onto the balcony for fresh air and a glimpse of early morning city life.
Finally, before checking out, it was back to the same restaurant from the night before for the delicious all-you-can-eat buffet-style breakfast. There was a large range of options, including cooked food – sausages, bacon, beans, eggs and tomatoes – as well as an assortment of fresh fruit, yogurt, cereals and muffins to keep us all happy.
After our gorgeously invigorating stay at this city centre hotel, we very reluctantly packed our suitcases and checked out – making a mental note that we would book a family function there in the future, as there’s so much to do and plenty of room, even for a clan like ours.
