Off-grid campsite near Bristol opened by Arcadia team

By Martin Booth  Wednesday Aug 25, 2021

A “hidden world” camp created in response to the coronavirus pandemic promises to bring together festival spirit, communal campfires and nature at its most spectacular.

Arcadia have created an off-grid camp in the hills of Chew Valley, nestled in 35-acres of rolling woodland.

Nature’s Spectacular is situated in the location where the Arcadia Spectacular team first lived and worked in 2017, and where their world famous spider structure was born.

Accommodation options include a converted mountain rescue vehicle, a new deer cabin and traditional tipis.

The former Yurt Lush restaurant and bar next to Temple Meads has also been repurposed into a luxury yurt to sleep four adults.

Each is located in its own secluded space, with the option to gather with fellow guests in the evening around a central communal fire.

There is also a wood-fired hot tub and acres of illuminated unspoiled woodland to explore.

“The ethos behind Arcadia has always been about human connection – bringing people together to dance, laugh and be present in the moment,” said Arcadia co-founder Pip Rush.

“The pandemic gave us the time to reflect on our core values, and we decided we wanted to create something really spectacular that allowed people to spend time with friends and family around a fire, under the stars, surrounded by nature.

“We wanted to show people what communal living and the festival spirit is all about. Nature’s Spectacular is the result, and this is just the beginning of this journey for us.”

The tranquillity of Nature Spectacular is far removed from what Arcadia are most well-known for, including Arcadia Spectacular which came to Queen Square in 2015, Pangea which saw DJs in a crane transported from Avonmouth docks, their bug which has taken part in St Paul’s Carnival and the spectacular Lords of Lightning.

Prices at Nature’s Spectacular start from £50 per person. For more information and to book, visit www.naturesspectacular.com.
