Penny Gane, chair of Bristol Women’s Voice, said: “Bristol Women’s Voice are thrilled to be hosting the big celebration of International Women’s Day for the sixth year.

“It is a really great opportunity for women of Bristol to come together and take part in a huge range of activities.”

This year’s event sees the inaugural mayor’s question time, allowing attendees to grill Bristol’s mayoral candidates on issues affecting women ahead of the election in May.

Two women have already confirmed that they will be standing for mayor, independent Christine Townsend and the Lib Dems’ Mary Page.

Other events on the day will include an ‘adventure expo, a series of activities and talks looking at all things green, panel discussions, and hands-on aspects to enjoy.

Created in partnership with Bristol Women’s Commission and Bristol City Council, the event is completely free and there is a free crèche available in two-hour slots and children are welcome to engage with age-appropriate activities.
