The UK’s newest drama school, whose mission is “to re-imagine actor training for the 21st century”, has appointed two new co-artistic directors.

Cromwell won an Olivier Award with Marianne Elliot as best director for the reworking of Death of a Salesman in London and on Broadway. From 2009 to 2014, she was Young Company director at Bristol Old Vic.
Cromwell said: “I am thrilled and honoured to be working alongside Stuart Wood and Michael Jenkins at Bristol School of Acting.
“I am very excited for the future, looking forward to building on the brilliant work of this diverse and innovative school to help nurture the UK’s next generation of extraordinary actors and theatre makers.”
Jenkins is co-founder of Blak Wave Productions; a self-shooting producer and director; and a writer for television and film. He recently directed The Shadow of Slavery as part of the Channel 4 series ‘Take Your Knee Off My Neck’ and was voted one of the most influential people in the Bristol BME Powerlist 2018.
He said: “I am honoured to be a part of the team at BSA and excited to get involved, lend my voice and work with the amazingly talented students and staff.”
BSA head of school and co-artistic director, Stuart Wood, added: “We are so excited that Miranda and Michael are joining us to build on the legacy that Nancy Medina has created in shaping this vital part of Bristol’s growing theatre culture.”
