3 tried and tested ways to earn up to £100 per hour from home – from those who’ve done it!

By Josh Kendall  Thursday Sep 26, 2019

We could all do with a little extra cash to play with each month – and when it doesn’t even mean leaving the house (or your pyjamas!), it’s a no-brainer. Whether you’re a stay-at-home parent, a student looking to save, or you would simply like to boost your income from the comfort of your own home, you can now make use of your spare time. Here’s three great ways you can start earning with Bristol-based company People for Research, with tried and tested feedback from those who’ve really done it.

Test a new product out (you might even be able to keep it!)

Big companies are on the look out for product testers to trial their latest developments and give their feedback. People for Research were recently looking for people to wear smartwatches for a client in the healthcare industry – those who took part were paid £100 and could even keep the smartwatch afterwards. The watch helps to monitor the wearers overall wellbeing, such as their sleep pattern, stress levels and fitness, so those who took part got to learn more about their health too. Victoria from Newport took part in this study, and told us:

“The study was very easy to take part in with lots of help from the company. It was great to try out something new and use the app to help my stress levels. I learnt lots about managing stress and what affects it.”

Complete remote tasks, diary studies or “Gogglebox” style sessions

Online tasks or diary studies can be a really quick and easy way to make more money with very minimal effort. Diary studies can vary in length, with the longer ones paying hundreds of pounds as a thank you for your commitment to the study. Time is money, as they say!

You can also help to support your favourite charities while earning. People for Research recently worked with Comic Relief to find people to track their awareness of Red Nose Day in the lead up to the big day, as well as a “Gogglebox” style session in-home, watching the TV event and giving their thoughts on what they saw.

If you’re a self-confessed TV addict, getting paid to watch TV will sound like easy money to you. A recent study paid people up to £235 just to keep track of their TV watching habits – it’s a great way to earn a big sum in a short space of time, while doing something that you love.

Feeling sociable? Be part of a remote focus group

Earning from home can get a little lonely. A more sociable way to boost your income is to take part in a focus group over Skype. It might sound a bit daunting, but it’s actually a really fun way to share your thoughts with others and hear their ideas too. Coral recently took part in a remote focus group for a well-known high street brand. She told us:

“It was nice to be able to take part from the comfort of my own home and not have to worry about getting to and from the venue. I would recommend People for Research (and I have!) – they’re very easy to work with and payment is easy, reliable and very prompt.”
