International Women’s Day is marked on March 8. It’s a celebration of the impact women make on the world, and a call to action to create a more equal and inclusive world.

Here’s how you can show your support for womenkind in Bristol:

March 4: Don your helmet for Cycle the City and get ready for a cycle tour with a difference as you celebrate some of the women who have shaped Bristol.

March 8: Inspiring Women in the Arts are offering free mentoring sessions with industry-leading women, in this special one-off event organised by Situations at St George’s.

March 10: The Find It Film Festival is new for 2017, and is devoted to women’s sport and adventure. The launch event features legendary triathlete Chrissie Wellington MBE.

March 11: Wardrobe Theatre hosts Read My Lips – a celebration of international sisterhood, featuring an all-female line-up of stellar DJs and cabaret acts.

March 16: The Science Film Festival are screening specially-commissioned short films about women in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths, at the At-Bristol Planetarium.

March 22: “>Bristol Bad Film Club present Undefeatable – an unconventional feminist masterpiece of bad acting, that promises to feature plenty of – literally – kick-ass women.
