A chance to see the lanterns before the Bedminster parade
For the first time, organisers of the Bedminster Winter Lantern Parade are previewing some of the lanterns before the parade begins.
On Friday, January 10 at 1pm on the junction of Church Lane and East Street, some of the lanterns that will be in the parade will be displayed and there will be live musical performances too from Bristol African Drum Masters, with Alan May on the saxophone.

is needed now More than ever
This lantern is one of a number dedicated to various endangered animals at an ever-increasing risk of extinction. Other lanterns made at the school, alongside the lantern parade’s project lead artist Alan May, will highlight other species which are currently at risk of extinction, alongside personal messages from the children.

The preview event will showcase some of the lanterns
The preview event will finish at 2pm and the main parade will take place the following day, on Saturday, January 11. Entertainment will begin at 4pm, with the actual parade beginning at 5pm, accompanied by four performing bands.
