A first glimpse into Portland Square’s new boutique hotel

By Lowie Trevena  Thursday Aug 8, 2019

With boutique hotels in London, Brighton, Cornwall and Oxfordshire, Artist Residence is due to open their newest location will be Bristol’s Portland Square.

Opening in October 2019, the the Grade-1 listed building, which was previously a Georgian townhouse and boot factory, was at risk of collapse when the hoteliers bought it in 2015.

It’s set to be a space for everyone to enjoy – from solo travellers to freelance workers – with a free-to-access lounge, bar, restaurant and café, as well as 22 boutique rooms and a basement event space.

The tour started in the entrance to the newest offering from Artist Residence, which is also home to the bar and was decorated with a combination of local artwork and hard hats
