Best of Britannia 2016
Bristol’s gorgeous St George’s hosts a celebration of the some of the most exciting British made brands on Saturday and Sunday the 5th and 6th November at Best Of Britannia 2016.
Featuring a brilliant blend of exciting new brands and classic heritage names, all gathered under one roof, Best of Britannia is a Bristol & South West “makers” mini-festival that’s set to become a regular event, following on from hugely successful shows in London and the north over the last couple of years.
is needed now More than ever
Set up in association with the Made in Britain Campaign, Best of Britannia (AKA BOB West!) draws on some heavy weight British makers, like fashion designer Wayne Hemingway MBE and Patrick Grant for guidance and support, with Grant’s Community Clothing label showcased at BOB West.
Alongside his range of crisp quality urban men’s and women’s wear is a long list of brands who draw on every kind of maker’s skill.
Exhibitors specialising in cycles and bike wear include Bradford on Avon’s Moulton bicycles, bespoke shoe maker Reynolds England and Carradice who produce beautiful cycle bags.
There’s tweed clothing from Settlers Stores in Somerset, textiles from Wales courtesy of Lynda Shell Textiles and Katie Victoria Davies. Highlights on home design and style front include furniture-makers Ian Archer Design, Murray & Ball, Burke & Marshall and Young & Norgate.
There’s food and drink too with Bristol Eats representing the best in local street-food with Scoff & Relish and Wild & Rustic serving delicious fare under a beautiful canopy from The Way Out West in Cornwall, kept hot by log burners from fellow Cornish makers Anevay.
You’ll also find organic leather bags from Bill Blight, a collection of kid’s clothes including Ramblers, Squidge & Pip, Belle & Boo and Little Shrimp, curated by Bristol shop Moodles, whilst their Gloucester Road neighbours, Room 212, will be showing the work from some of Bristol’s finest artists and there’s much, much more on show too!
To top it off, BOB Ambassador June Sarpong MBE is also showing samples from her new womenswear label LDNY at the event, following a successful launch at BOB London, back in September.
BOB West 2016 happens on 5th & 6th November from 10am at St George’s Church off Park Street, Bristol BS1 5RR – and entry tickets can be exchanged for a free craft ale or cocktail too!
