Bristol Advent Calendar 2020, day 13: Bristol Uniform Exchange
Bristol Uniform Exchange helps families with the often costly expense of school uniform, with the aim to provide free or low cost school uniform items to support families across our city.
With lots of children missing so much school this year, there are probably lots of excellent quality items which children have grown out of and will not be able to use.
So the Bristol Uniform Exchange team is asking parents to reuse and recycle these uniforms.
is needed now More than ever
Bristol Uniform Exchange hosts exchange days, where families can swap or buy good quality, pre-loved and freshly-washed school uniform.
This includes school jumpers and cardigans, polo shirts and PE kits to school shoes, bags and lunchboxes.
The team also offer direct support via their Facebook group to provide items outside of their events.
“We are always looking for donations of pre loved uniform items, which we can come collect from you, contact free.
“All we ask is that items are in good condition, that you would be happy to use and that it’s been through the wash!”
Having recently become a community interest company (CIC), Bristol Uniform Exchange can now help support the community through accessing funding and grants to provide uniform for free for the most in need families in Bristol.
They are proud to have helped more than 60 families across Bristol since launching the project at the end of July 2020 and are working hard to find ways to support further.
