Bristol Charity Advent Calendar 2018, day 4: Bristol Ageing Better
Bristol Ageing Better is a partnership of individuals and organisations working together to reduce isolation and loneliness among older people in Bristol.
The programme is funded by the Big Lottery Fund through more than a dozen projects across four main themes:
- Creating the conditions to reduce and prevent loneliness
- Identifying and informing older people at risk of loneliness
- Working with communities to increase the services and activities available
- Supporting individuals to live fulfilling lives
At the end of November, the World Health Organisation accepted Bristol’s application to become the 705th member of the Global Network for Age-Friendly Cities & Communities.
is needed now More than ever
Bristol Ageing Better programme director Adam Rees said: “This announcement builds on the commitment from Bristol City Council, local voluntary organisations and represents the voices of older people who have influenced Bristol’s Age Friendly strategy from the beginning.
“This is just the start of our journey to making Bristol truly age friendly.”
