Bristol Charity Advent Calendar – day 18

By Bristol24/7  Thursday Dec 15, 2016

The Marmalade Trust works hard to reduce loneliness and social isolation in Bristol.

Founded by occupational therapist Amy Perrin, the charity ensures that elderly people are not left on their own at Christmas by hosting lunches over the festive period.

The lunches are hosted in five different restaurants and pubs across the city, helping older people to feel a part of their community and make friends along the way.

All of the meals are held on Christmas day and this year will provide over 80 people with a comforting, friendly meal.

The Marmalade Trust’s meals are fully booked up for this year, but there are still ways that you can help support them.

– To volunteer, fill out their online form.
– To donate, visit their Just Giving page or to donate £5 text MARM15 £5 to 70075

Every day during Advent, Bristol24/7 will be focusing on a Bristol charity that you can support. If you want to see a charity featured, please email cat@bristol247.com
