Bristol Charity Advent Calendar – day six
Incredible Edible Bristol grows food with communities of many kinds in lost and unloved spaces across Bristol, supporting learning and looking at how we can all work towards a kinder future where prosperity is measured by wellbeing and health before wealth.
There are 36 Incredible Edible Bristol beds across the city from Fishponds to Horfield Common, from Cabot Circus to Clifton Down. Each garden is looked after by its own community of volunteers, all of who are passionate about food, growing and creating a kinder future.
The food grown in all of the gardens is there for the whole city to take and Incredible Edible encourage you to do just that.
is needed now More than ever
Whether it’s a sprig of herbs to pop into your dinner from their herb bed outside At-Bristol, or a lettuce from the bed in Castle Park, the food is a gift to the community from the charity’s volunteers.
Over the last four years, Incredible Edible has worked with more than 400 volunteers, created the Urban Food Trail from Millennium Square to Temple Meads and created a food growing programme that is free to access to every school in the city.
On Monday, December 12, Incredible Edible are hosting the showing of Operation People Power on the Big Screen in Millennium Square, a programme in which they feature by Hungry Gap Productions about the power of volunteering.
There are lots of ways to get involved in Incredible Edible from coming along to a work party, joining their online community or harvesting some crops.
