Day of the Dead altar on display at Arnos Vale
Four friends from Bristol have created a traditional Day of the Dead altar within a crypt at Arnos Vale Cemetery.
The ofrenda features photographs of lost loved ones as well as Day of the Dead imagery of skulls, with anyone welcome to leave their own photos and visit the ofrenda until Friday.
One of the friends who helped put the ofrenda together is artist Danielle Greenwood, who grew up in El Paso in Texas on the border of Mexico and now lives in Bristol, selling her art as Viva Los Muertos.

“The traditions of the neighbouring country are deeply embedded in me,” said Danielle, who currently has a Dia De Los Muertos exhibition of her work at Room 212 on Gloucester Road.
“I have grown up celebrating both Mexican and American traditions. Dia de los Muertos is deeply important to me as I have lost many loved ones throughout my life journey and the concept of celebrating and remembering their life rather than grieving the loss of them has helped me to heal.”
Danielle has been selling her Mexican-influenced art and creations in Bristol for the last three years and through this met Nayelhi Jacobs, Fabiola Garay and Louise Dark who came together to create the altar in Arnos Vale.
