Doodle Day: Creative fun for the kids

By Ed Fernyhough  Wednesday Oct 12, 2016

Doodle Day is coming to the Paintworks on Saturday, October 22.

Bristol-based Let’s Make Art have teamed up with Anorak magazine, Cass Art and travelling bookshop How Brave is the Wren, as well as a host of local artists for a day of doodling and drawing with art workshops and storytelling for children and their families.

Games and competitions will run throughout the day with chances to win some nifty prizes.

Fun is the spirit of the day and those attending will be able to create all manner of wonderful images with Posca chalk pens on a huge blackboard and splash colour all over some giant Jon Burgerman and Wallplayer murals.

Grown-ups can enjoy smoothies with a kick and children their energizing drinks, homemade cake in hand, while listening to the DJs after a day of doodling.

Other goodies will be available from the onsite marketplace as well, with your drawings even able to be turned into t-shirts.

Tickets cost £8 per child over two years, with grown-ups free of charge. For tickets and more information, visit www.picatic.com/doodleday
