An exhibition at Bristol School of Art
“I was a mature student at SGS. I enrolled at SGS because I wanted to change the direction of my career. Before starting the course, I felt nervous to be the older student in the class but from the first day I felt so welcomed and accepted. I studied FDA Fine Art at the Bristol School of Art campus. The class sizes are small which I feel was really beneficial to my development as I had access to my own spaces and the lecturer could spend more 1:1 time
with me.
The campus itself has been an art school since 1858 and it was an honour to study in such a stunning, historical building. Since graduating with my foundation degree, I have set up my own business selling art pieces that I have created from recycled and sustainable materials. I also run art classes in the local community for the elderly, giving them a chance to be creative and meet new people. Changing career paths and studying at SGS has been such a wonderful opportunity and life changing for me.”
