In photos: Bristol reopens

By Bristol24/7  Monday Apr 19, 2021

The first Saturday that pubs were open this year saw outside areas packed as punters got the pints in.

Pubs, bars and restaurants with the luxury of outdoor space were able to welcome back customers.

For those unable to sit at a table, the parks were as busy as ever; with the unfortunate sight of litter left behind.

Photographer Harry Pugsley was in Bristol city centre on Saturday to document the scene:

There was not much room for social distancing on Corn Street

Diners outside Honest Burger

Police kept a close eye on proceedings

Weddings continued at the register office

The water was cold, honest

A busker entertains the crowd at the Cascade Steps

It was like Piccadilly Circus on Pero’s Bridge

A classic drinking spot outside the Arnolfini

The painted hearts in Queen Square were adhered to

Hundreds of people came to King Street

The Old Duke was prepared for all weather

Tables were a sought-after commodity

A ‘kill the bill’ placard alongside discarded bottles and cans

Under the Stars is one of the city centre bars with outside space

Castle Park was also a popular spot
