New Bristol Boat Show makes a splash

An exciting new show for boat enthusiasts is due to take place in Bristol’s harbour from July 21 to 23, as part of the Bristol Harbour Festival. Western Boat Show promises to be a fantastic display of power boats, cruisers, ribs and sailing boats.

“We’re very excited to be launching a new boat show as part of the Bristol Harbour Festival and adding to the spectacle,” said Event Director Richard Milbourn. The Festival has been going for 46 years and is such a big event now that it attracts over 250,000 visitors and if you’re into boats there is everything you could possibly want to see.”

The Western Boat Show will cover every aspect of the leisure marine industry from boat builders, canoes, paddle boards, sailmakers, marinas, holidays, chandlers, watersports and engine manufacturers to marine finance, clothing specialists and navigation equipment. New boats include a Legend Yacht, Phantom Sports Boat, Pirate 21 and Smartliner Fisher 23. For full details of all the exhibitors at the show go to www.westernboatshow.co.uk.

“Our sponsors have some great prizes on offer including a Fairview Sailing weekend yacht charter, a Sailing Logic introduction to racing course for two and a Helly Hansen sailing jacket”, said Richard Milbourn. “Entry is free and all you need to do is answer a simple question on the website.

The Show is free to all Festival visitors and serious boat owners can buy premium tickets to give them exclusive access to the specialist areas. Tickets with pontoon access to the boats are just £5 per for a weekend ticket. Tickets can be booked online or on the door.

 

Bristol Harbour Festival is the mother of all maritime festivals which celebrates the city’s vibrant harbourside and sees the harbour filled with two miles of vessels, food markets, circus acts, live music and performers. Over 250 vessels of all shapes and sizes will be tied up at every available mooring space including three impressive tall ships – The Kaskelot, The Earl of Pembroke and the Phoenix. With the Royal Navy’s Hunt Class Ship alongside two Archer Class P2000s.
