St Peter’s Hospice team up with Bristol Bears for brand new event

By Bristol24/7  Wednesday Feb 5, 2020

Join St Peter’s Hospice on March 8 on a six-mile sponsored walk that leads to the Bristol Bear’s vs Harlequins live match!

The walk starts at Ashton Gate before heading straight out of the city. The circular route passes under the iconic suspension bridge, through Leigh Woods and through the stunning grounds of Ashton Court.

After getting a hero’s welcome back at Ashton Gate, you’ll head into the stadium to watch the game.

This is the perfect event to gather up your friends and family – anyone can take part from the age of 10 upwards, and raise money for St Peter’s Hospice.

Anyone from the age of ten upwards can join in this fun six-mile walk

St Peter’s Hospice is the only adult hospice for Bristol and the surrounding areas. They’re dedicated to caring for people who suddenly find themselves at the end of their lives. They help people adjust to life with a terminal illness within their homes, offer bereavement counselling to loved ones and run a Day Hospice where patients can be around others in the same situations as them, forging support networks. All of their care is given entirely free of charge and they ensure that their patients can live the best quality of life in the time they have left.

One current patient recently said ‘The Hospice staff really couldn’t be doing more to support me. Life has gone from being grey and dull to an explosion of love and kindness’.

Taking part in The Rugby March means you’ll be directly contributing to this vital work, whilst taking on a challenge and having a great Sunday at the same time.

Entry is just £25 per person, which includes your ticket to the rugby and goes towards the running of the event. Anything raised in addition supports the work of the Hospice.

The walk starts at 11 am with registration opening at 10 am, and you’ll arrive back at Ashton Gate in time for kick off at 3 pm.
