Video: Meet the people standing to become the next Bristol mayor
People across the city will be heading to the polls on May 6 to vote for the next mayor of Bristol.
From promises on affordable homes to environmental issues, trees to transport (and scrapping the role entirely), each of the candidates has been hitting the campaign trail in a bid to secure support from residents.
Alongside in-depth interviews with each of the nine candidates standing for the role, Bristol24/7 has put together a handy video to help people make their minds up on who to vote for.
is needed now More than ever
In this short film by Aphra Evans, those standing for the city’s top job outline their key priorities, promises, and favourite place in Bristol. The video features eight of the nine mayoral hopefuls as Reform candidate Robert Clarke was unavailable at the time of filming.
Still undecided? Hear what each candidate has to say at the mayoral hustings hosted by Bristol24/7 and Watershed at 7pm on Thursday, April 29. No questions will be off-limits and the audience is invited to ask questions before or during the virtual event.
Candidates will be asked a variety of questions by Bristol24/7 Editor Martin Booth and by audience members, with questions able to be submitted to editor@bristol247.com in advance.
Emails should have the subject line ‘Hustings’ and include your name and which area of Bristol you live in. Questions can also be submitted live on the night via YouTube’s chat function.
