World’s biggest inflatable obstacle course comes to Bristol?
Runners from across Bristol will get the chance to take on Europe’s tallest inflatable slide, as the world’s biggest inflatable obstacle course comes to the region for the first time.
As well as the five storey slide, Gung-Ho! ‘Spooktacular’ will see up to 5,000 runners take on several of the world’s most exciting obstacles including a giant inflatable ball pit, maze and climbing wall at Ashton Court.
is needed now More than ever
The family-friendly event will take place on Saturday, October 29 to coincide with Halloween and will include a spectacular fireworks display, with a capacity for up to 10,000 people.
Young thrill-seekers taking part in the world’s biggest inflatable obstacle course are also set for a Jurassic PERK when CBeebies star Andy Day puts on an exclusive Dino Raps show for them.
Then after 7pm the evening gets ‘spooked-up’, runners in the Total Wipe Out-style 5k will be chased by ZOMBIES, while for spectators there will be a Halloween-themed marquee, music, dancers, ghosts, ghouls and spooky activities for all the family.
Tickets are on sale to take part in the entire evening, or just to attend the Halloween celebrations and fireworks.
Gung-Ho! creator Alex Winters said: “Putting on this event is a dream come true for me. We have wanted to take Gung-Ho! to Bristol for such a long time and at last it is happening!
“There is such a great energy in Bristol – it is a fantastically vibrant city that I have always thought a perfect venue for Gung-Ho, and now we get to see for ourselves!
“Not only are we bringing our amazing array of obstacles to the south-west for the first time, but it will be the first area to experience our ‘Spooktacular’, which will be fun for all the family.
”We can’t wait to come and spook-out Bristol and see them go Gung-Ho!! I’m sure everyone will have the time of their lives.”
Alex came up with the idea for an inflatable obstacle course while sat in front of the TV watching an episode of Ninja Warrior, and that idea spawned Gung-Ho!’s first three events in 2015.
The events have also raised tens of thousands of pounds for charity, with money going to various local charities across the country and to Children In Need.
To take part in the Spooktacular 5k race, Runners must be at least 4ft tall. They receive a free bib with race number, Gung-Ho! glow-in-the-dark t-shirt and headband, while any spectators can attend for free and enjoy the food stalls and music.
Individuals can experience the whole evening for just £40, while family tickets – for two adults and three children – cost £135, with prices going up on October 14th.
Spectators under-five go free.
