YOUR COUNTDOWN TO GREATNESS IN BRISTOL
The AJ Bell Great Bristol Run, is back on Sunday 14 May for another spectacular celebration.
The event is one of the UKs most popular running events and has been part of the city since 1989, but each year it continues to get better!
The super-scenic 10k and Half Marathon routes take in Bristol’s best local landmarks, but it’s not just the inspiring views that attracts runners from far and wide: the start line DJ, rocking on-course music zones and post-race celebrations create an unbeatable atmosphere.

Organisers are pulling out all the stops to make this year’s event the best yet, so here are just some of the reasons why it should be on your 2023 must do list:
Timed pacers powered by music! Great Run’s pacing team are always on hand to give runners the best possible chance of smashing out a personal best, but this year the pacers will be blasting out tunes all along the course to keep motivation high.

Rocking music and cheer zones. More than 15 music zones, live bands and charity cheer squads line the route to keep legs pumping and smiles on faces from start to finish. They’re all great, but the Power Thru Carnival zone will really bring the party to Bristol!
Brizzle Bling! Get ready for one or two post-race selfies with the 2023 finisher medal. You can wear it with pride for a whole week (at least)!
Terrific t-shirt. The snazziest t-shirt in town is a just reward for runners as they cross the finish line. The event village will be a sea of red as runners don their favourite new fashion item.
A post-race party! Runners, families and friends can kick back, relax and enjoy the post-race celebrations in our the Après Run zone, with a live DJ turning up the feelgood!
Meeting Wallace and Gromit. Wallace and Gromit will be on the Family Run start line to meet and greet runners, with special prizes up for grabs the best ‘wrong trousers’ costumes.
Support from sign-up to the finish line. Great Run offer support from the get-go with training plans & advice, race day prep and motivation every step of the way, you will be roared across the finish line and applauded in the event village once you’ve conquered the challenge.
VI Runners 10k Challenge. The event stages the UK’s only dedicated Visually Impaired race, and in partnership with VI Runners Bristol is aiming to promote participation in running for people registered as severely sight impaired.
Bristol comes alive on race day, and there’s still time to sign up and be part of the action. Whether its hearing strangers shout your name, pure joy as you cross the finish line, or wearing your medal with pride, you have to be there to feel the feeling.
