Green treasure hunt begins

The first of the Bristol 2015 Neighbourhood Arts projects to launch is a green treasure hunt taking in Redland, Bishopston, Cotham, Horfield, Ashley Down, St Werburgh’s and Montpelier.

Green Treasures by artist Chrissie Decker starts on Saturday, August 1 and runs for six weeks.

Along the trail are 20 small and five larger hidden art installations at unmarked locations.

Those taking part also being encouraged to ditch the car in order to cycle, walk or scoot the route, which takes in some of the area’s quieter roads and back alleys, including this path through Horfield Allotments:

Maps are now available at many shops, cafes and public buildings local to Bishopston, Cotham and Redland, and also on the Treasure Hunt’s website, www.greentreasure.net.
