Watch: Bristol24/7 Presents: Building back fairer, greener, stronger

By Ellie Pipe  Monday Dec 14, 2020

The third event in the Bristol24/7 Presents series focused on how the city’s business community can help lead a fairer, greener and stronger economic recovery.

Covering issues of the gender pay gap, living wage, sustainable construction practices, ethical development and much more, five panellists took part in a live discussion on how we can build back better and ensure nobody gets left behind.

The full panel included:
Jaya Chakrabarti MBE, the co-founder and CEO of the award-winning tiscreport.org who – among many other things – is leading the development of VANA, a new app to tackle deforestation.
Andrew Dobbs, who leads Willmott Dixon’s sustainable development strategy for the region.
Dr Zara Nanu, the co-founder and CEO of Gapsquare and an expert on how diversity and inclusion can shape more dynamic and productive teams.
Professor Martin Parker, a professor of organisation studies at the University of Bristol, the current lead of the Bristol Inclusive Economy Initiative and author of Life After Covid19, among other publications.
Liam Ronan-Chlond, the engagement and social value lead for property developer First Base.

There were also video contributions from some of Bristol24/7’s Better Business members and leaders in the city’s non-profit sector, as well as a short presentation by Jake Smith and Dan Grixti from Tusko on their journey towards becoming a BCorp.
