30 of the most influential under-30s in Bristol revealed

By Lowie Trevena  Monday Jan 11, 2021

Rife Magazine has revealed its list of the 30 most influential people under 30 living in and around Bristol.

What was previously the 24 under 24 was relaunched for 2020, following Rife‘s involvement in Creative Workforce for the Future.

“We’ve had a reset ourselves at Rife recently,” says Sammy Jones, Rife‘s written content manager.

“We’re now part of Creative Workforce for the Future, a programme that connects and nurtures emerging creatives from groups currently underrepresented in the creative sectors to opportunities in the creative industries.

“Through being a part of Creative Workforce for the Future, we’ve come to better understand how institutional discrimination and systemic oppression slows and obstructs career development for young people, particularly those from underrepresented groups.

“So, this year, we’re actively platforming those up to the age of 30, to make sure our list reflects this pace.”

Sammy collated nominations alongside Rife content creator Aggie Andrews and 2020’s 30 under 30 sees the likes of comedian Abi Clarke, artist Travis Alabanza and mental health activist Evie Basch make the list.

Musician Jay 0117, Liza Bilal, Xahra Saleem, Tiffany Lyare, Clayton Wildwoode and Sam Little of All Black Lives Matter and poet Solomon OB also feature on the list, which is teeming with talent.

“This year, we’ve chosen thirty talented individuals under the age of 30 from across the West of England, with the aim of showcasing their amazing work and giving them the recognition they deserve,” says the Rife team.

“This process has felt particularly important during such a challenging time for so many. Follow them, celebrate them, and share to support their incredible work.”
