Arrest in Barton Hill murder probe

A 21-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a woman was found at a Barton Hill home.

Police said they were treating the incident as “domestic-related”, but have stepped up patrols in the area.

The woman was found unconscious at a property in Morley Street on Sunday at 7.30pm. She was treated for her injuries but died at the scene.

An Avon and Somerset police spokesperson said: “A man was arrested and our enquiries into the incident – which is being treated as domestic-related – are continuing.

“Specially trained officers are supporting the woman’s family and the local neighbourhood policing team are patrolling the area, providing reassurance and receiving information from members of the local community.”.
