Arson investigation after seven fires overnight in St Werburgh’s
The police have launched an arson investigation after multiple vehicles and bins were set alight in St Werburgh’s overnight.
Police were called to the scene at around 2am on Thursday evening after reports of seven fires in Eastgate Road, York Street, Narroways Road and Glenfrome Road.
Four of the fires were in bins, one was at an electricity substation and two involved vehicles. The incident is being treated as linked and as arson.

The area around A&M Motor Services on York Street remained cordoned off on Friday afternoon, and two badly damaged vehicles could be seen behind police tape.
A spokesperson for the police said: “We were called at 2:10am by the fire service to reports of multiple fires in the St Werburghs area of Bristol.
“Officers attended to support firefighters with seven fires in Eastgate Road, York Street, Narroways Road and Glenfrome Road, which are being treated as linked and as arson.
“Four of the fires were in bins, one was at an electricity substation and two involved vehicles.
Officers have been conducting enquiries in the area this morning.
