Baby gorilla born at Bristol Zoo

By Bristol24/7  Monday Apr 24, 2017

The youngest member of Bristol Zoo’s family of gorillas was born at the zoo in the early hours of Saturday morning.

The infant, who does not yet have a name, was born to mum Touni and dad Jock.

In a statement, the zoo said that the baby appears strong and its mother is being very attentive.

The Gorilla House was closed over the weekend to allow Touni time to rest quietly and bond with her new infant.

Keepers will be monitoring both mum and baby very closely over the coming days and weeks.
