Bailiffs surround Stapleton allotments

By Martin Booth  Saturday Feb 21, 2015

A seed swap due to take place on Saturday at Feed Bristol in Stapleton has had to be moved over the road due to bailiffs moving onto part of the site that has been occupied for three weeks by protesters.

The seed swap is now taking place at the Begbrook Social Club on Frenchay Park Road.

But as the Green Capital-sponsored event happens, only a few hundred yards away comes what could be the last stand of anti-MetroBus campaigners who are still camped out in tents in the trees (including this giant bird box) and now also in tunnels underground.

On Saturday morning, access to the site was blocked by two security guards in hi-vis jackets, while others could be seen inside.
