Big bugs come to Bristol Zoo
Bristol Zoo welcomes some special creepy crawly visitors this month for their Big Bug Exhibition.
The new residents come in the form of 13 huge animatronic bugs which will be placed around the Clifton attraction.
The bugs will be in several different forms including the seven-spot ladybird, Mexican red kneed tarantula, firefly and the red tailed bumble bee.
They will be brought to life using state-of-the-art technology which will allow them to move, hiss and even spray water at visitors.
Bristol Zoo’s head of marketing and development Owain Cassidy said: “We are very excited to unveil our giant, life-like bugs. We are sure that the Big Bugs will prove just as popular as the giant animatronic dinosaurs we displayed in 2013 following their popularity in 2012.
“As well as being fantastic fun, this exhibition also presents a great opportunity to tell our guests more about the creepy crawlies we all know and love, in an interactive and exciting way.”
Visitors to the zoo can see the bugs every day from March 28 to September 6.
