Big success for Belly Laughs
January saw Bristol24/7 team up with Belly Laughs, a food and comedy night run by local comic Mark Olver, all raising money for charity.
Bristol24/7 helped out as a media partner, selling tickets and shouting about the great work that Mark Olver and his comic friends were doing: not only bringing excellent talent to independent restaurants during the quietest month of the year, but raising money for The Julian Trust as well.

The month saw 32 events take place across the city, from Suncraft of Gloucester Road to Bean Tree Cafe in Staple Hill, with most hosted by Mark himself.

This year’s Belly Laughs also saw 11 venues in Wapping Wharf, including Seven Lucky Gods and Woky Ko Kaiju, take part in a marathon evening of comedy, with every performer taking to the stage at each restaurant.
More than 35 comics performed, including Fin Taylor, Sally Ann Hayward and Jon Richardson, and more than 1,300 people came to enjoy the shows.
Most importantly, this year’s Belly Laughs raised just under £15,000 for The Julian Trust, helping some of the most vulnerable people living in the city.
