‘Big up my Boobs’

By Bristol24/7  Monday Apr 2, 2018

The latest project from a multi-award winning Bristol animator is an animated comedy song about breastfeeding called Big up my Boobs.

Katy Ross, one half of the Superdoodle production company, hopes to be able to break down the stigma of breastfeeding and empower women by sharing what’s normal in a fun way.

“We need to talk about breastfeeding more and help to normalise it,” says Katy. “The more women that feel comfortable with breastfeeding, and the more it becomes normal, the better.”

She has now launched a crowdfunding campaign to get the Big up My Boobs project into production:

There will be four different verses to the song which will feature four different characters, each mum having a different tale to tell, including feeding in public and accidentally answering the front door with a boob hanging out.

Katy added: “The video’s aim is to reassure mums that they’re not alone in their worries and trials and tribulations, and that they’re doing a great job. They’re amazing.”

The project needs to raise £15,000, which will cover the costs of hiring and recording five singers, a producer, designer and an animator to help Katy.
