‘Black Friday? It’s a waste of time’
Though almost every shop in Avon Meads Retail Park had sales signs up, there was a distinct lack of excitement around the idea of Black Friday.

The American tradition adopted by British stores is for many people the last big spending push before Christmas, but here the feeling is distinctly unfestive.
Jackie: “There have been lots of people about but everyone’s rushing around, and everyone’s paying on card so they don’t have much change on them.”
Matt: “It’s a bit pointless really, and clearly not working very well.”
Rory: “I can’t say it excites me. Why bother when you can do it online?”
