Driver appears to push cyclist in Lockleaze

A cyclist in Lockleaze had a lucky escape from serious injury after the driver of a BMW approaching from the opposite direction appears to attempt to push them off their bike:

The incident happened on Wordsworth Road on Monday evening.

The cyclist, who does not want to be named, told the Bristol Post: “Last night a white BMW travelling in the opposite direction slowed and swerved across the road towards me.

“The driver leaned out of the open window, put his hand on my right hip and gave me a strong shove. Although it unbalanced me slightly, I was able to stay upright and no injury occurred.”

Bristol Post commenter shankinshane said: “I don’t blame the BMW driver , I can’t stand cyclists , there a bunch of idiots !”
