Bollocks to Brexit bus arrives in Bristol
Waving their EU flags, a group of protesters warmly welcomed a bright yellow bus as it arrived into Bristol on a cold and wet Saturday afternoon.
The Bollocks to Brexit bus pulled in next to Bambalan on Colston Street, with protesters then walking across the centre – handing out Bollocks to Brexit stickers as they went – before a rally in front of the Cascade Steps.
Madeleina Kay, who was named Young European of the Year 2018 by the European Parliament, spoke for a few minutes before singing a Brexit-themed Christmas song, All I Want for Christmas is the EU.
is needed now More than ever
The Bollocks to Brexit bus was crowdfunded by the campaign group EU Flag Mafia, with a central message that Brexit is not a done deal.
“There’s quite a lot of people who find Brexit more offensive than the word bollocks,” said Kay. “I’m more offended with my rights being taken away as part of a fraudulently won referendum campaign than the use of a word that may or may not be vulgar.”
The bus is currently on a tour of the UK, urging those who support its aims to write to their MP.
