Bristol bus driver injured by flare thrown onto bus
A bus driver suffered burns to her eyes after a passenger lit a flare on the bus and threw it into her face.
The 53-year-old driver still requires hospital treatment following the attack, with the police now appealing for witnesses.
The incident happened at around 4.40pm on Wednesday, December 30 on Union Street in Bristol city centre.

A 14-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and released under investigation while enquiries continue.
The person who threw the flare got onto the bus and lit it on the top deck of the vehicle before getting off a short time later and throwing it in the driver’s face.
Burns to her eyes could potentially mean a deterioration in the eyesight for the driver, who still requires ongoing visits to hospital in the weeks after the attack.
A police statement says: “We want to speak to anyone who saw or heard any part of this incident, who haven’t yet spoken with the police.
“We especially want to speak to a woman who was stood at the bus stop at the time the incident happened.”
