Bristol snow update – Saturday morning

Here are the latest updates:

  • A number of bus services are running on Saturday morning. Rail tickets will be accepted on all First West of England bus services today.
  • A burst water main on Coronation Road left some houses in Southville and Bedminster without water overnight
  • A day of special events celebrating International Women’s Day are taking place on Saturday at City Hall
  • The performance of Wicked at Bristol Hippodrome was one of the few shows to go ahead on Friday. Customers unable to make it have been offered tickets to the show in London.
  • The Environment Agency has issued a flood alert for the River Avon at Bristol, Pill and Shirehampton, with high tides mixed with melting snow. The first forecast high water is at 8.15am on Saturday morning
  • St John’s Primary School, split over two sites on opposite sides of Blackboy Hill in Clifton and Redland, was the only Bristol school open on Friday
  • There was a giant snowball fight on the Downs on Friday afternoon:
