Bristol Sport Foundation’s annual cycling fundraiser returns for 2021
Bristol Sport Foundation, which uses exercise to break down barriers and bring about change, has announced its largest annual fundraiser will return virtually for 2021.
Organised by Bristol Sport Foundation and Bristol Bears Community Foundation, Break the Cycle raises money to support charity work across the city, such as after school clubs, sports and education programmes and sports coaching.
Due to the pandemic, the event will take place virtually for a second year over May and June. The fundraiser will culminate in a celebration event at Ashton Gate Stadium on June 27.
is needed now More than ever
It will be live streamed to watch at home and, Covid-19 restrictions permitting, there may be in-person participation.
All of the money raised at this event will go to Bristol Bears Community Foundation.
Participants will also have the chance to fundraise for a chosen charity, such as Bristol Sport Foundation and Bristol City Robins Foundation.
Those taking part need to set themselves a cycling-based challenge and raise as much money as they can by June 27.
2021’s virtual Break the Cycle event saw more than 250 people take part and, with support from Bristol’s professional clubs, more than £15,000 was raised.
“We would love to have a go at breaking that figure this year to support the life changing work that our foundations carry out every day,” say organisers at Bristol Sport Foundation.
“We would love you to submit your videos, images and anything else to us throughout the Break the Cycle campaign, please submit all content by tagging us on our social media channels using #BreakTheCycle2021.”
