Bristol team to trek to Everest base camp
Staying in sherpa family lodges along the way, a team of 12 Bristol men and women will be making a 19-day round trip to Everest Base Camp in March 2019.
The Bristol to Base Camp team are hoping to raise more than £60,000 for PHASE Worldwide, a charity based on Brunswick Square in St Paul’s that empowers isolated communities in Nepal through sustainable health, education and livelihood opportunities.

Dominic Borel, co-owner of Pasta Loco on Cotham Hill and Pasta Ripiena on St Nicholas Street, told Bristol24/7 that he was part of a “great group of people”.
Borel was a member of a team of food and drink industry professionals who took part in a similar trek through the Himalayas earlier this year to raise money for Action Against Hunger.
“I think it’s going to be great fun next year,” he said. “And more importantly we will be hopefully be raising a lot of money for PHASE, a charity that deserves a lot more support and recognition.”
