Bristol Uni falls in world reputation ranking
The University of Bristol has fallen out of the top 100 of the world’s best universities judged on global reputation.
The rankings by the Times Higher Education (THE) see Harvard and MIT in first and second, with Cambridge and Oxford at fourth and fifth both moving down two places on their 2015 ranking.
Based on reputation and perceived status, the rankings are based on the opinions of an international panel of academics.

A spokesman for the University of Bristol said: “While a fall in any ranking table is disappointing, it’s worth noting that the Times Higher Education World Reputation Rankings are based on an invitation-only survey of academics.
“In last September’s THE World University Rankings, which are informed by data on teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook, the University of Bristol rose five places to 69th worldwide and ninth in the UK.”
