Bristol Women’s Voice announces International Women’s Day programme
On Saturday, March 11, Bristol Women’s Voice is hosting its free annual event in celebration of International Women’s Day.
The event will take place in and around City Hall and College Green.
It will feature over 100 contributors taking part in talks, exhibitions, and performances. This year’s event will also include food served by the Somali Kitchen and a city-centre march for equality.

Some of the highlights of the event are an opening performance by dancers from the South Gloucestershire Chinese Association, music by the Bring Your Own Baby Choir and panel discussions on topics such as women’s leadership and women in elite sport.
Katy Taylor, director of Bristol Women’s Voice said: ‘‘We know times are hard and we want to give every woman in Bristol the chance to have a great free day out.’’
Taylor highlighted that everyone is welcome and encouraged people to bring their partners, friends and families to the celebration.
Karin Smyth, MP for Bristol South said: ‘We must work hard to inspire the future generation of women leaders to build upon the achievements of the past. International Women’s Day is a time for us to celebrate the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women.’’
