Bristol24/7 is hiring an Events Manager
Full time and part time roles available
Salary £25k pro-rata with bonus for successful event delivery
About us
is needed now More than ever
From Totterdown to Downend, Stokes Croft to Stoke Bishop & Southmead to Southville – Bristol24/7 provides the whole city with a hub for all the latest news and an up to the minute feel for what’s happening in arts & culture, food and drink, music & dance to name just a few. As a Community Interest Company we also invest a lot back into our local communities – including offering work experience and career paths into media for people from across the city.
About the role
We’re keen to expand the number of events we run in the city, which may include but aren’t limited to awards celebrations, live music and club nights, business lunches, literature & arts festivals or historic celebrations. The beauty of this role is that you can drive this agenda. We want to create events that celebrate all that is great and special about our city.

Last year, Bristol24/7 hosted a mini food festival in Wapping Wharf to launch our EatDrink guide
This role will be responsible for contributing to the ideation process. We already have lots of ideas, you’ll know whether they’re practical or not, and once we’ve settled on an idea (or five), you’ll be responsible for making it happen. Strong project management skills are a must, along with the ability to get the right people doing the right things at the right time. You’ll also need strong financial management skills, as these events need to each create their own revenue stream.
You’ll have excellent interpersonal skills and be equally comfortable dealing with a wide range of people from across the city. This is a brand new role for us and we think a real opportunity to make your mark and shape the job around your skills
Job description:
You will need:
– Event management experience
– To be an Excel wizard
– To be highly organised and able to work to deadlines
– To be able to fire off emails at a rate of knots
– Budget management skills
– A passion for local independent media
– To enjoy working independently and as part of a team
-To love Bristol, culture, food and drink and local events
– A good network of contacts and an ability to build relationships
-To want to run the kind of events that leave people beaming – food festivals, concerts, parties, debates – the sky’s the limit!
– A passion for involving everyone in our work – particularly people who are not usually well represented in media and events industries
– To be able to work odd hours sometimes – planning may be 9-5 but our parties can go on well into the night
– To be flexible, adaptable and have buckets of initiative. Nothing ever goes entirely to plan!

Bristol24/7’s biggest party to date took place last March in Ashton Court Mansion
We also offer:
– 25-30 days paid holiday, pro-rata for part time roles
– Bonus scheme for successful events
– A free membership so you can access our exclusive perks
– A fun and busy work environment and some good after-work nights out
– A paid 4 week sabbatical after 4 years of working with us
– Bike to work scheme
We believe our work will be stronger with greater diversity and welcome applications from those who bring balance to our team. Bristol24/7 welcomes the whole person to work, and we understand that each of us brings our experiences, our backgrounds and our own unique lens to what we do.
You may not have worked in media before or in an organisation like Bristol24/7. Perhaps you have worked in other creative industries, in theatre, community organisations or in operations.
If you are from a background that is not well represented in the media industry, we want to hear from you. This includes if you are:
• a person who experiences racism and/or
• a disabled person and/or
• a person who identifies as having a working class background and/or
• a person who was eligible for free school meals as a child
At the moment we are flexible in our approach to where we work. Most of our team are spending approximately two days a week in our office at Future Leap on Gloucester Road and three days a week from home.
To apply, please email jobs@bristol247.com with your CV and a covering letter (no longer than one page please!) using the subject line ‘Events Manager’. Please apply by Friday 19th January. We are aiming to have someone in position as soon as possible!
