Our small team produces content that is read by hundreds of thousands of people – an audience that’s growing all the time. We’re looking for someone to help us report on the climate crisis and solutions needed, shine a light on positive actions happening in Bristol, hold local governments to account and connect people and communities with ideas and businesses.

Please note: this is a part time, freelance role for 1.5 days a week at a rate of £80 per day on an initial contract of six months.*

Job description
We are looking for a Climate and Sustainability Editor to join our team. You will mainly be responsible for our climate and environmental coverage including writing and investigating stories, contributing to podcasts, hosting events and representing Bristol24/7 at meetings and events.
You will need:
- A strong awareness of climate issues and greenwashing
- A good knowledge of Bristol
- Good written skills
- Attention to detail
- To be highly organised and able to work to deadlines
- A passion for local independent media
- To enjoy working independently and as part of a team
- To have initiative and be happy taking on new tasks when needed
- To have used WordPress or have a desire to learn
- Good networking skills
- To be confident hosting events and panel discussions
Ideally you would also have experience of journalism or writing.

At the moment we are flexible in our approach to where we work. Most of our team are spending approximately two days a week in our office at the Paintworks and three days a week from home.
