Bristol24/7 needs your support more than ever
If you’re reading this, you are hopefully somebody who already values independent journalism.
You might already receive Bristol24/7’s daily newsletter at 7am every day. It has become an essential part of the morning routine of thousands of people.
You might already visit the Bristol24/7 website throughout the day to read everything from investigations to opinion pieces to the latest food and drink openings.
is needed now More than ever
You might already follow Bristol24/7 on social media as our small team of reporters cover the news as it happens in real-time.
And you might hear us explore the stories behind the stories on the weekly Bristol24/7 Behind the Headlines podcast.
We do all this because we also value independent journalism and it is a privilege to be so many people’s first choice for when you want to find out what is happening across our city.
But we also will not be able to do all of this without the support of our members. If you’re already a member of Bristol24/7, thank you. We’re honoured that you have chosen to support us.
We are in a financially precarious position and without growing our membership we will not continue to exist in our current form by the end of the year. This is why we have launched a campaign today to grow our community to 1,000 supporter members.
By paying just £5 as a member of Bristol24/7, it will mean that you will continue to receive the daily newsletter, continue to be able to read our stories on bristol247.com and hopefully again in our monthly magazine, and continue to follow our reporters from wherever the news is happening.

That fiver will also get you an array of perks across the city from beers to doughnuts to cinema tickets.
That fiver multiplied by hundreds of Bristolians up and down our city will ensure that independent journalism can thrive in Bristol.
We will be able to employ more reporters within communities most often forgotten about by the media, who will tell stories about the areas that they call home.
We will be able to offer more work experience placements to give people their first taste of the media industry; being able to pay transport costs for those who might not be able to make it to our office.
We will be able to continue to bring you the news that matters. (And the news that doesn’t matter – you are always welcome to tell us what you think about our articles and how we can be better.)

I would not be writing to you today if all was rosy at Bristol24/7 HQ. We are hanging on by the skin of our teeth right now so we need your support more than ever to continue punching well above our weight and to ensure that our city has a strong independent media not afraid to ruffle feathers.
So, if you can, please think about becoming a member of Bristol24/7 for just £5 per month. For less than that lunch from Pret, you can help Bristol24/7 continue for many years to come.
