First celebrity Shaun designs revealed
With only one month to go until the Shaun in the City trail lands in Bristol, the first two celebrity designs have been revealed.
Bagpuss creator Peter Firmin has unveiled his Bagpuss Shaun, which he made in collaboration with his daughter Emily, an artist and sculptor who also played the cat’s owner in the television series when she was eight years old.
Bagpuss Shaun will be on display at Cabot Circus during the trail.
Wayne Hemingway, the designer behind quirky fashion label Red or Dead, has unveiled another pink Shaun, this one called Sheepish which will be located at Temple Church Gardens during the trail.
He said: “It was a no-brainer to get involved in such a fun project, which gives so much pleasure to people and benefits such a wonderful cause. Creating this sculpture for Shaun in the City has been such a highlight.
“I love seeing cartoonish, colourful pink poodles in our cities and thought that Shaun may want to disguise himself sheepishly.”
The designs of the other 68 decorated sheep will be kept quiet until soon before the trail launches on July 6 for six weeks, before the sculptures are auctioned to raise money for the Grand Appeal, the Bristol Children’s Hospital charity.
