Challenging the perceptions of poverty
An exhibition was held in Barton Hill with the aim of representing the contribution made by people in Poverty, challenging the negative stereotypes surrounding people who often experience social exclusion.
The Roles we play, from ATD Fourth World and Eva Sajovic, put together a collection of photographic portraits and self-written biographies, exploring the roles played by those living with poverty within their families, communities and society at large.
And to mark the exhibition at Barton Hill Settlement on Wednesday, local people were asked to contribute by being photographed with the role they play in the community.
