Claire Hazelgrove early favourite to be Labour candidate for Filton & Bradley Stoke
Claire Hazelgrove already has a slick campaign video and website in her bid to become the new MP for Filton & Bradley Stoke.
A former member of the senior leadership team at Friends of the Earth and the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change, Hazelgrove stood as Labour’s parliamentary candidate for Skipton & Ripon in the 2010 general election where she finished third with just 10 per cent of the vote.
But before she stands in the next general election, she needs to convince local Labour Party members in the South Gloucestershire constituency that she is the ideal candidate to defeat the Tory incumbent, Jack Lopresti, who won in 2019 with a slim majority of 5,646.
is needed now More than ever
Hazelgrove already has endorsements from Bristol North West MP Darren Jones and metro mayor Dan Norris.
Currently the community and political engagement director at TPXimpact (formerly FutureGov), she will be battling to be Labour’s prospective candidate for Filton & Bradley Stoke with Kaz Self, who would be the first trans person to win a UK parliamentary election.
Self recently stood unsuccessfully to be a member of Labour’s NEC and played a key part in bringing a trans rights motion to Bristol City Council.
